Students and parents sometimes ask: "Why is it important to get equipped with creation apologetics resources?"

Answer: Students today spend 5 days of the week at school, getting about an hour of science training each day, not including homework. Once they have finished their school responsibilities, they often sit through T.V. programs, read books from the library, or flip throughmagazines, some of which are scientific in nature. While much of what is learned is helpful knowledge about the natural world, unbiblical evolutionary assumptions are often mixed in, and the whole package is sold to them as “science”.

Unfortunately, many Christian parents and students are unaware of these hidden teachings, and lack the tools to answer questions raised by them, such as, “What about natural selection?”, “Doesn’t radioisotope dating disprove the Bible?”, “What about ape-men fossils?”, “Where does the ice-age fit in?” and so on. These questions, if left unanswered, can often cause doubts about the Bible’s trustworthiness. After all, if the Bible’s teachings on earthly things are wrong (or need “reinterpretation”), why would its teachings on spiritual things be any different?

That is where creation apologetics teaching comes into play. “Apologetics” comes from a Greek word that means “to make a defense.” This word is used in 1 Peter 3:15, where we are given the command to “…always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks a reason for the hope that is in you.” And in a world where the history of Genesis constantly being questioned, it is imperative that we equip ourselves with answers to these questions, and that we train our students to do the same.

It is no coincidence that at this time, there are more creation apologetics resources available than at any other time in history. To get started, check out our free resources like “Creation v. Evolution: What You Aren’t Being Told in Biology Class” and our fast facts sheets on ape-men fossils, and visit websites like (Answers in Genesis/Ken Ham) and (Institute for Creation Research).

Another way you can get equipped (and help others to get equipped) is by hosting a presentation by our speakers from Genesis Apologetics on a topic like ape-men, the Flood, evolution, dinosaurs, and others. Visit our “Request a Presentation Page” (
